The Holly and the Oak Kings.
A rivalry of centuries old, Since ancient times the tale’s been told, Two mighty kings one dark, one light, Who twice a year come here to fight. The Holly King, the darker one, Rules our Winter, steals our sun, While King of Oak, of green and bright, Will rule our Summer, return the light. So here at Litha, Summer sings, The Oaken Lord is standing King, But now his time has reached its peak, The Holly King comes, the crown he seeks. And so again, as years before, The two will clash as weapons draw, The Holly King will Summer break, As bird and bee and beast awake, But Oaken King is standing fast, The time to duel has come at last... black and white
It seems like alls i have left today,
is the strife, the pain you can't take away.
You're making the choices for me, and i don't have a say.
I can no longer fight,
for the things i believe to be right
when your darkness over powers my light.
Colors fade to black and white,
the world used to seem so bright
but now i opened my eyes to see that all along, you were right...

A day in the life...
By these rules I must abide,
held by the chains of my pride.
Mixed feelings i must subside
for it is not my choice,
I fear I have lost my voice-
lost any reason to rejoice.
Out of money.out of time
I turned away-is that such a crime?
without reason or rhyme
I turned away,
just like you back in the day,
only you then had the right to say-
a right you've lost.
A right i've given up; not thinking of the cost.
Now my chest aches from the frost growing there,
hardening my heart, where
everything once seemed fair.
What a careless whay to be, thinking of only me-
feeling free.feeling like ive grown...
If only i would have known..

Daughter of the Gods
Chapter one: Beginnings
Nell Danu scanned the valley to the left and right of the Ancient Oak Grove. Hidden behind the trunk of the Grandmother Oak, and protected from view by new and old saplings alike, she was able to see just how many Raiders were walking the perimeter of the Temple. Six. Three sentries of two. She was alone, and armed only with a weather-worn bow and seven arrows. She knew she would never take the temple before dawn.
Why wont the others fight with me? She asked aloud, sinking down onto the snow covered ground, her back to the Tree and her bow falling to gently onto t
Hunter's Moon.
''She kneels in the forest in silence and waits,
For the sound of the Lord who has twisted her Fate.
The rustle of leaves, the snapping of bark,
A sure sign He's near in this woodland's dark.
The wind picks up & caresses her skin,
She knows He is close for she feels it within.
A groan of the sky as the thunder roars,
and there He approaches, her God, her Lord.
With arms of strength and a passion so true,
with His wild stag horns, He calls to you.
She rises now, gets to her feet,
waiting patiently, for the moment they meet.
Moon and Sun, lying together,
Beneath the starlight,
Uniting forever''

A Request to the Storm God
Hear me.
As your Storm rages on.
Hear me.
As your Flood pours down.
Hear me.
As you Harvest the Soul crop.
Hear me.
As your Dark Night thunders on.
Hear me.
As you rant and your roar.
Hear me.
As you come to seek vengeance.
Hear me.
As you light up the Ebony sky.
Hear me.
As you call the fallen forth.
Hear me.
Know me.
I feel your power, I know your strength.
Pass by us safely,
And Bless all under your Storm ravaged sky....
Listen as the Thunder roars,
Do you hear your God, your Lord?
Or do you hear the Morrigan Shriek?
As the Wild Hunt Rides to Harvest & reap?
Do you hear an army of hooves?
The Shadow of Death, The Harbringers of Doom?
Or do you hear a gentle roll,
Like a wave that breaks on a Coral Shoal?
Maybe you hear the War drum beat,
As the Lightning cracks with Light & Heat.
Or maybe like me,
you hear none of these things,
Just the Sound of the Storm Goddess as she stretches her wings.
Hello there! I'm Vandrake Druidstone, a Pagan poet and Bard-In-Training with the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids.
As a sapling tree I began to learn more about the earth I was part of. As a young tree I was very aware of bigger and taller trees than I, yet was curious about the role we all played in the forest. As my bark grew tougher and my branches stretched outward, I gained an understanding of my place in the world and recognised my own strengths and weaknesses.
As my body grew and my canopy reached toward the bright sunshine, I saw a path that lay through the forest. So with confidence and curiosity I've begun to extend my branches, reaching for new achievements, creativity and spirituality. Along the way I'm sure to be buffeted by winds both fair and foul, feel the cool and calming rain, and enjoy the warm inspiration of the sun. I'm ready to grow, learn and explore new lessons in life, learn to seed new ideas and knowledge into those who grow beside me, and on my journey discover the importance of my roots.
In my writing and photography I hope to share the experiences I have on my path through life...
Just want to say-here I am truly enchanted with your work here and I find there is reverence through the gaze of light/brightness in each photo (perhaps I've been in Alaska for a while now, so light is currently an attractive alchemy). Bright Blessings from under the Northern Star, AK Kathryn :>
I love your life story under the DeviantID. I got goosebumps reading it. All your work it amazing, if you haven't noticed all my comments. I plan on buying some of your products in the future. Keep up the work
