Imbolc - The Maiden's Return

A candle lit upon the eve and midnight's dark falls back,
And there across the fields of snow is running Frosty Jack,
His time to hide is drawing near as She returns again,
The youthful Maiden brings the Spring to end the Winter's reign.

As softly as a teardrop's fall, the Goddess makes her way,
To gather all the sunshine's glow upon the break of day,
And slowly as the snowflakes melt and life begins anew,
Beneath the soil a whisper starts, a stirring pushing through.

The greyish clouds slip far away, the sunshine sings a song,
A melody of life reborn and of Her journey long,
And now She's here, Her strength returned, Her power coursing through,
Her Priestess offers thanks and praise, a love forever true..

Oh Brighid, Bringer of the Sun, and Maiden of the Spring,
Thank you for all you give to us, new life in everything,
We celebrate your special day, and think of all you do,
You fill our hearts, our souls and minds with nought but love for you.
